SpringHill Suites by Marriott Ames

Friendly staff, clean rooms and quiet atmosphere. We were here on a Friday night and actually got sleep. The beds were comfy and lots of soft pillows. The bathroom was kind of weird with a sliding door which makes a lot of noise if you use it at night it wakes the other room occupants. The bathroom is pretty big and it would have been nice if the toilet had its own door so someone could shower or use the sink while someone does the potty deed. The breakfast was really good! Best continental breakfast we have had. Weekends it is supposed to start at 6:30 but it was already ready at 6 AM which is good because we were in a hurry!

Room was excellent. So different than most hotels. Liked sitting on the couch to watch TV rather than the bed. We did not have a refrigerator in room but didn't need one this time. Breakfast was excellent. Coffee hot and fresh. Wish they had coffee available any time of day. Agree with another review about carpeting in the rooms. Shampoo & body wash excellent. My only drawback...we were going to stay at a Springhill Suites in Ames but we had our dog with us and the cost for allowing a dog was way to costly.

We were actually pleasantly surprised. My wife is very OCD/Clean freak.. and she was too. We were very comfortable, rooms were spacious & had a good lay out. The front desk staff was friendly + helpful. The breakfast was good! The pool was clean and we had fun! It is a smaller pool though. The beds were comfortable too! We truly did enjoy our stay! The only feedback we could give is have the housekeepers clean the bathroom floors + around the trim a little better. But once again my wife owns a cleaning business and notices everything! Other than that we were happy. We would stay here again! We did have a 2 year old with us as well and it was quiet! Thanks!!

Rooms are awesome, space is great for rest and work. I would put 4 toweks from the get go so customers don't have to request them but otherwise hotel is pristine. Breakfast was delicious, just add some fruit and granola and you are golden.

We stayed in a double queen bed suite for one night. The lay out was great and very comfortable. We were traveling with two dogs, and the fee was reasonable. The grounds were nice, and easily accessible for walking the dogs. There are no doggy stations, so bring your own bags :) We were pulling a trailer and there was ample parking for it, but it was a Wednesday night, so keep that in mind. We generally would have booked online through the Mariott app, but the pet fee was showing double what we were quoted when I called ahead (I always do this as I've had hotels show they accept pets online, when in fact they don't). When I checked in, I got a tiny bit lower rate and the correct pet fee. I would definitely stay here again!

Great place to stay in Ames.. New hotel. Good breakfast, pool looked nice, didn't use this visit. No hot tub. Has outside seating with fire table. Looks nice, next time. Tons were very clean and nice. They have the annoying card slot for master power. If it's a big deal get an extra card or any CC sized card will work in it's place to keep the power on in the room. Will stay again. Def worth the price. Good value.

Big rooms, very clean, decent breakfast. Recommend for individuals or coordinated group stay

This hotel is fairly new. Some work was still being finished or possibly redone in the hallways on the baseboards. I loved that I was able to download an app to check in on the way and use a mobile key to get into our room easily since we arrived late at night. I really liked the modern feel of the room and bathroom. I really appreciated the make up remover wipe provided in the bathroom! Great use of the space. It fit our family of five well and could easily accommodate six. I was really impressed by the hotel breakfast. It looked really nice and the quality was the best I've had at a complimentary hotel breakfast. The lobby had plenty of space for guests to sit and enjoy breakfast. The pool was oddly small, but my sons still enjoyed it and I enjoyed the lounge chair in the area. I would give preference to other locations of Springhill Suites because of this experience.
